Coaching & Editing

Not every writer’s project is the same, but to be an artist, it’s necessary to claim your space as a person, to find your own voice interesting, while also dissolving into the role of witness, to a certain extent.

What would it look like for you to be an empathetic witness for yourself and those around you?

How do those qualities already exist in your work?

Creativity Coaching

Together with clients, I develop coaching packages to suit their needs, after an initial consultation by email or phone.

Coaching packages can include zoom/phone meetings and emails in which we discuss writing goals, work on strategies for developing and maintaining a writing practice, and check in about progress. I can also offer writing prompts and deadlines, as well as other techniques for jumpstarting creativity, such as reading suggestions, tarot card pulls, and guided meditation.

My rate for coaching is $80/hour, and I can offer packages of between one and six hours. Contact me for availability and to schedule a free consultation of two emails or a 20 minute phone call.

Developmental Editing

Developmental editors help clients bring their ideas to fruition, making suggestions in the early stages of a project. Substantive or line editors can help a client with in-depth, rigorous editing of prose, in terms of organization and flow of the text. I am prepared to help with both, depending where you are in a project. (This essay provides insight into what developmental editors can offer a writer.)

My rate is .05/word. A double-spaced typed page is typically 250 words. So, for example, I could edit a 20-page essay for $250 or a 50,000-word/200-page book manuscript for $2,500.

Returning clients are eligible for a discount. Contact me for availability and to discuss your project.
